Reaching the Unreached through Generational Discipleship
In a few weeks the New Wineskins missions conference is taking place in North Carolina. I will be there delivering a MAP presentation on “Reaching The Unreached Through Generational Discipleship”. MAP stands for Mission Awareness Presentation. It is a good opportunity for us to spread the word about this little ministry that God has used for more than a decade. We are looking to spark a discipleship movement across the ACNA by equipping and empowering those who don’t realize they can and should disciple others.
Knowing my background in youth ministry, the organizers of New Wineskins requested the focus of my presentation to be on how we reach the next generation through discipleship. In that workshop I will explore some of the reasons churches struggle to get people involved in discipling relationships and how we easily overlook the best resources to disciple younger generations. My presentation description is as follows.
Younger generations are the least-reached people groups in our nation, grappling with unprecedented levels of loneliness, anxiety, and depression. Yet beneath their struggles lies a deep hunger for meaning, purpose, and relationships. This is not a crisis—it’s an extraordinary opportunity. The mission field is right in front of us, and it’s time to act.
When each generation is less reached than the previous, we must rethink our strategies for evangelism and discipleship. We need to get into a rhythm where one generation equips the next to live out their faith effectively and pass it on to future generations. By equipping believers with a simple and sustainable model, we can build a strong, enduring faith community centered on the gospel and rooted in Scripture.
Explore how we can together ignite a culture of generational discipleship and discover the vast untapped resource that the church has overlooked.
If you are going to be at the conference, I would love to meet you there to talk about discipleship. Look for me at the MAP Presentation.
